This project involved the upgrade and refurbishment of existing sheds at the port of Hull, specifically so that the sheds would be suitable for storage of biomass material.
Works included the over-cladding of an existing roof, stripping out of the old electrical systems and installing a new one to include new lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, lightning protection as well as carbon monoxide and temperature monitoring systems.
Additional works included constructing foundations for, and installing, new retaining wall units within the sheds and installing new roller shutter and personnel doors.
Due to logistical problems experienced by the client, ATC Ltd were not able to get possession of the building until later than hoped, however we worked with our sub-contractors to mitigate the delays and reduced the overall programme duration by 25% to ensure that the project was completed on time for the first delivery of the biomass material.
