Willoughton Anaerobic Digestion Plant

At A Torn Construction Ltd we are proud of our knowledge, expertise and experience in the construction of AD Plants. We work closely with our partners on all projects to achieve the best outcome possible – working alongside Birch Energy Ltd we completed this 0.5 megawatt AD Plant in 2015.

This project included construction of :-
• 7,400m3 lagoon, complete with liner and lead detection system.
• Bunded area for digester tank
• 2.5 clamps with storage capacity of 4,000 ton per clamp for maize, beet, pig manure
• Reinforced concrete bases for - CHP, carbon filter, sub-station, technical container, pump container, dry feeder, separator and dryer
• Service trenches for gas, heating, pumping mains, electric
• Surfacing and kerbs for services area and access road
• New entrance off Old Leys Lane

We worked with our design partners, HBPW Consulting to come up with the most economical construction methods without the need to import additional fill materials.
